July 2019: SmartFactory CEO Brendan Sheppard formed part of an Industry leaders group who welcomed a delegation of California state legislators visit to Ireland.

The visit was coordinated by the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs, the IDA and the O’Neill Group and the delegation came to Limerick to hear about the region’s recent economic successes, particularly in the area of research and design.

As a growing technology business in the mid-west region, SmartFactory presented as an example start-up working with US multinationals based in Ireland. “SmartFactory are delivering solutions to American companies through their operations in Ireland” said CEO Sheppard, “and our strategy for growth is based on a land-and-expand plan for the other sites around the world.”

SmartFactory are currently working on projects in Arizona and Mexico, as their initial clients in Ireland have introduced them to more international projects.

“The support from the University, IDA and Enterprise Ireland has been a great benefit to us and we are delighted to participate at events such as this and showcase our technologies and the possibilities in the region” concluded Sheppard.
